Studio: SIX16 Body Piercing

My name is Nick SanGregory, and I’ve been piercing for 13 years. I currently own and operate SIX16 in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

I found body piercing at a young age when I stumbled across some issues of PFIQ  and Modern Primitive.  Soon after, I found BMEzine and knew there was no turning back - this was going to be a huge part of my life one way or another.

Through the years I’ve been on the forefront of experimentation in body piercing,  but found what I’m really good at, and really passionate about is simplicity. My goal in every piercing experience is to make it look as natural as possible on the client, as if I’ve done nothing and they were just born with it.

Though I’ve been known for my extensive portfolio of high nostrils, always pushing the limits to see how high and how flush I could have them be with minimal troubleshooting, I now focus primarily on simple ear projects. There’s a delicate flow and balance, mixed with the challenges to make it look like it belongs there, that’s just really satisfying.

Outside of piercing I spend most of my time in the gym as I’m a competitive powerlifter.  I also enjoy nearly anything I can be hands on with such as welding, carpentry and landscaping. I’m always building or tinkering with something, and I have a deep desire to keep learning.

Along with learning, I have a passion for teaching and passing on that information. I’m excited to watch the industry grow and change, and grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of it.
