7 Ways To Get Your Piercing Studio Ready For Black Friday
The holiday season is quickly approaching and for many shoppers Black Friday marks the start of holiday gift shopping! This could result in a spike in sales, and more traffic for your piercing studio. We’ve created a small list of things you can do to prepare your studio for the upcoming Black Friday Sales!
Check your inventory
A great place to start when preparing for Black Friday, or the holiday season in general is to take note of your inventory. Doing a count of your stock will give you a better idea of what you have in the studio, and what you can market to your customers. Be sure to share these numbers with your sales staff so they can be refreshed, and recommend the perfect piece for your customers.
If you have an online component to your studio, it is very important to double check your inventory. This will ensure you are not selling pieces of jewelry you don’t physically have.
Discount excess or out of season items
Black Friday is a wonderful opportunity to discount older or excess stock that may not have been as popular as you intended. Don’t be discouraged by this, but definitely take note of the styles, materials, gem colours and other notable attributes of the jewelry that does not sell as well in your studio for the next time you place an order.
Once you have collected your less popular pieces we suggest you include them in a sales promotion or discounted collection. This way you can clear some room in your display cases and increase sales!
Ensure your team is on the same page
When creating sales, promotions, or campaigns you should always make sure your staff is aware of any changes to pricing. Prior to your sale starting, send out an email, or host a meeting with your team to ensure everyone is on the same page. Your team being informed can only help them sell and keep clear communication and expectations within your piercing studio.
Refresh and simplify your displays
Visual merchandising is extremely important for in store shoppers! Now is a great time of year to refresh your display cases with a new look to create some visual interest, and show something new to your regular clientele.
You may even want to create a designated “sale” section or sections pertaining to “holiday gift giving”. Having separate areas catered towards different client’s shopping needs is always helpful.
We also suggest keeping your best selling or sale items further towards the back of your studio. This tactic is used at many department and grocery stores.
For example, in order to just buy milk at the grocery store, you also need to pass by the bakery and snack section! This is a strategic way of ensuring your client has the opportunity to look at other options on the way to their desired piece.
If you’re in need of a new display, we have released a 21 hole Junipurr Jewelry display that can hold a wide variety of threadless ends. Shop our displays by clicking here.
Ensure Covid-19 protocol is being followed
Depending on where you are in the world, Covid-19 could still be very prevalent. Although many of us have been following bylaws put in place by our governments, it is important to continue to do so for the safety of your staff, and clients. The holiday season can oftentimes result in more foot traffic, but it is extremely important to continue to social distance, and enforce masks when necessary.
Gift cards, gift cards, gift cards
As we know, many clients will come into studios looking to buy jewelry for their loved ones! But, with sizing being incredibly anatomy dependent for most piercings, sometimes a gift card is the best option. Many studios also allow their clients to use gift cards toward ear piercing services, which is great if your client is looking to give an experience rather than a physical gift.
In addition to physical gift cards, you may also want to consider making digital gift cards available. Not only are digital gift cards eco-friendly (no one-use plastic or paper products) but clients will be able to purchase these gift cards from the comfort of their own homes.
We love how @piercedbygina is utilizing the options of e-gift cards this holiday season. She allows clients to load as much money as they’d like to gift on to the cards and use them towards piecing services, jewelry, aftercare and permanent makeup services as well!
Don’t forget about Cyber Monday
Cyber Monday will be incredibly important this year for many businesses, especially those who are under temporary closures for Covid-19.
Once you have your online store set up and ready, we suggest creating a Cyber Monday/Black Friday collection page, or discount code. This will get clients excited for a great deal, and will hopefully help you to make a few extra sales to start off your holiday season!
For existing clients that are already a part of your e-mail list, we suggest sending out an early deal or promotional code for your online store! This is a fun way to give your clients the inside scoop on upcoming deals, and will also allow them to shop a little earlier. Think of this as a thank you to your loyal customers!
Cyber monday is a great time to also utilize your social media following. Ensure that you are interacting with clients on all channels as most will be shopping online and looking for the best deals that day. Utilizing both stories and in feed post options is very important to get as many eyes as possible on your jewelry, services or promotions that you are offering during this time.
